Submission process

Title page and manuscript text file should be separately submitted online via the online submission system.

Manuscript preparation

1- Summary (for busy authors)

Title page, including title of the article, authors' names and ORCIDs, affiliations, and detailed information of corresponding authors; Phone and Fax number, Email, and Postal Address should be supplied and submitted as a separate file.

Manuscript text files should be prepared according to specific research reporting guidelines. In addition, declaration section including acknowledgment, funding, authors' contribution, and abbreviations should be addressed at the end of the manuscript text in all types of the articles. All clinical trials should be registered in a registry of clinical trials approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) or the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). 2- Details

The journal adheres to the recommendations of International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The main manuscript should carry the title, abstract, main text, acknowledgment, funding, authors' contribution, abbreviations, references, figures, and tables of the paper. The preferred word processing format for the manuscript file is Microsoft Word version 2003 or newer. Manuscripts should be double-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. All abbreviations must be spelled out the first time used, followed by the abbreviated form in parentheses. Units of measurement must comply with the International System of Units (SI). For indexing, three to five keywords should be typed at the end of the abstract for each manuscript. These words should be identical to the medical subject headings (MeSH) that appear in the Index Medicus of the National Library of Medicine.


Article Types

Original Articles – Observational Studies
Must follow STROBE: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, References (25–35), max 4 tables and 4 figures. Structured abstract (250–300 words). Main text: 2500–3000 words.

Clinical Trials
Must follow CONSORT guidelines and include a CONSORT flowchart. Structured abstract (250–300 words). Main text: 2500–3000 words. References: 25–35. Max 4 tables and 4 figures.

Reviews

  • Narrative Review: Non-structured abstract, max 5000 words, minimum 60 references.

  • Systematic Review/Meta-analysis: Follow PRISMA or MOOSE. Structured abstract. Max 5000 words, at least 50 references.

Case Report
Follow CARE: Abstract (max 200 words), Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, References (10–15). Max 1500 words. 1 table and 3 figures.

Brief Report
Structured abstract (max 200 words). Max 1500 words. 1 table or figure. Max 10 references.

Letters to the Editor / Editorial
Constructive comments or brief research findings. Max 600 words, up to 5 references.

Declarations

Authorship
Must follow ICMJE's 4 criteria. Contributions should be stated. Authorship changes must be confirmed in writing by all authors.

Funding and Support
Declare all sources of funding and affiliations or interests.

Conflict of Interest
Disclose any potential conflicts.

Data Availability
Authors must ensure data is available upon request.


References

  • References should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition style.

    Each reference must use a hanging indent format, where the first line is flush left and all subsequent lines are indented.

    Journal names must be written in full and italicized. Do not abbreviate journal titles.

    List up to 20 authors for a single work. If there are more than 20 authors, list the first 19 authors, followed by an ellipsis, and then the final author’s name.

    When available, include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) in the form of a URL, for example: https://doi.org/...

    References must be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author.

    In-text citations should follow the author-date format, for example: (Author, year) or Author (year). For direct quotations, a page number must be included.

    Here are some examples of reference formatting in APA 6th edition:

    Format:

    3. Book Chapter

    Format:

    Author(s) of chapter. (Year). Title of chapter. In Editor(s) (Ed(s).), Title of book (edition, pp. xx–xx). Publisher.

    Example:

    Cunningham, F. G., Leveno, K. J., Bloom, S. L., Hauth, J. C., & Gilstrap, L. C. (2005). Parturition. In Williams obstetrics (22nd ed., pp. 151–186). McGraw-Hill.


    In-text Citation Formats

    • Narrative:
      Zarnani et al. (2008) found that...

    • Parenthetical:
      (Zarnani et al., 2008)

    • Direct Quote:
      (Zarnani et al., 2008, p. 783)

    To ensure accuracy and consistency, authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero with the APA 6th edition citation style.


Figures and Tables

Include only necessary figures/tables. Use Arabic numbering. Provide legends (max 60 words) on separate pages.


Responsibility and Ethical Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Ethical approval and informed consent must be obtained for studies involving humans.

  • For animal studies, follow NIH guidelines.

  • Scientific misconduct will be evaluated per COPE guidelines.


Editorial Independence

The Editor-in-Chief of Healthia retains full editorial independence and makes final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts without external influence.
