Submission Process
Title page and manuscript text file must be submitted separately via the online submission system of Tourismisme.
Templates for Quantitative, Qualitative, Systematic Reviews, and the Title Page are available for download and use.
Manuscript Preparation
1. Summary
The title page must include the article title, authors’ names and ORCID IDs, affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author (email, phone number, and mailing address). Submit this as a separate file.
The manuscript text should follow recognized research reporting formats relevant to tourism and hospitality. At the end of the text, include acknowledgments, funding, author contributions, and abbreviations (if any). All studies involving primary data collection with human participants should follow ethical research practices including informed consent. Research should be registered when applicable, such as field experiments or policy evaluations. Example: Open Science Framework.
2. Details
Tourismisme adheres to ethical publishing and scholarly recommendations. The manuscript should include: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment, references, figures, and tables. Submit using Microsoft Word (2003 or newer), double-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins. Use SI units where applicable. Define abbreviations at first use. Include 3–5 keywords after the abstract using terms that align with tourism subject indexing (e.g., UNESCO Thesaurus or relevant tourism classification).
Article Types
Original Research Articles – Field or Observational Studies
Follow best practices such as STROBE (for social research). Structure: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References (20–35). Max 4 tables/figures. Abstract: 250–300 words. Main text: 3000–5000 words.
Tourism Case Studies
In-depth exploration of a destination, business, policy, or event. Abstract: 200–300 words. Main text: 3000–5000 words. Min 20 references. Include visuals where relevant.
Literature Reviews
- Narrative Review: Non-structured abstract. Max 6000 words. At least 50 references.
- Systematic Review/Meta-analysis: Follow PRISMA. Structured abstract. Max 6000 words. Minimum 50 references.
Brief Reports or Policy Notes
Short empirical or conceptual reports. Abstract: 200 words. Max 2000 words. Max 2 figures/tables. Up to 15 references.
Letters to the Editor / Editorial
Short opinion pieces or commentaries. Max 800 words. Max 5 references.

Authorship
All authors must meet the authorship criteria (substantial contribution, writing, approval, and accountability). Any change in authorship must be approved by all contributors in writing.
Funding
All sources of funding and institutional support must be declared.
Conflicts of Interest
Disclose any affiliations or interests that may be perceived as potential conflicts.
Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to make data accessible in open repositories such as OSF or institutional archives.
References
- Use APA 6th edition citation style.
- Use hanging indent format.
- Italicize full journal names. Do not abbreviate.
- List up to 20 authors; if more, use ellipsis after the 19th, then list the final author.
- Include DOI links where available (e.g., https://doi.org/…)
- Sort alphabetically by surname of the first author.
- Use narrative, parenthetical, or direct quotation citation format as appropriate.
Figures and Tables
Include only necessary figures/tables. Number using Arabic numerals. Provide clear captions (max 60 words) on a separate page.
Ethical Responsibilities
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
- Research involving human participants must include ethical approval and informed consent.
- Plagiarism and publication misconduct are evaluated according to COPE guidelines.
Editorial Independence
The Editor-in-Chief of Tourismisme maintains full editorial independence and has the final decision on all submissions without external influence.
